Today’s Training Pull-ups are one of those exercises that totally piss me off and it’s because I struggle with them. When I train I want to push myself, I want to feel the stress on my respiratory system and I want to sweat. Burpees, Wallballs, Running, Kettlebells give me this. With Pull-ups I cant get […]
Today’s Training Yesterday, Christmas Day I didn’t train. I ate and I drank, but mostly ate. The diet went out the window and today’s wasn’t much better so I’m not even going to bother posting my food diary for these two days. 8 or 9 miles was on the cards for today and a bit […]
Today’s Training The gym was busy this am. Everyone who attends Crossfit are committed, bar a few who drift in and out. I’ve never seen so many committed people in a gym type environment before now. It really is something that has captured people. Squat was 90kg- piece o’ cake. Push Press 70kg I struggled […]
Today’s Training There’s a couple of exercises that I’d like to perfect, just because I’m shit at them and one of those is Muscle-ups. It’s hard to see how they will help me run faster or longer and in isolation they probably will not. But that’s not the point. It’s about getting better over all […]
From Castleknock gate to my front door is about 4km so I decided to split it up and do some short fast runs. I didn’t measure it exactly but in the end it was about 4 x 800m. Short and fast is important so as to give the lungs and whole body a stiff challenge, […]
Stability is helped greatly by this and all other types of lifting and can feel great benefit from it already. Lifting shoes are on the shopping list and will help with technique a fair bit I imagine.
Wednesday is generally the third day for Crossfit each week and I’m a bit zonked by the end of the day. Trouble is I don’t get enough sleep each night, maybe 5 or 6 hours. Getting up is not a problem, it’s the evening time when it hits. Kids running a mock at bedtime is […]
Back into the Crossfit gym this am at 06:30 for an oul session. Weight on the squat increased this morning to 100% of Front Squat. I’m working off 130kg Back Squat which translates to 104kg Front Squat. This was a big test which I handled pretty well until the second Front Squat of the 5th […]
Today’s sessions represented a bit of a test. Crossfit session was at 06:30 am followed by a day’s graft and a planned 16 miles in the evening. I knew I had to do it so no resistance was offered, in fact I was looking forward to seeing how the evening session would go.
Today was a light session in the shed at the bottom of the garden. A 10:30 am lie on, a kids party, furniture moving and a couple of other excuses meant the long run wasn’t done today. This all means two training sessions are on the cards tomorrow with Crossfit in the am 06:30, and a […]
